When temperatures dip–as they did earlier this week in New York–some warmer weather looks can be easily converted to adapt. I love wearing blazers over dresses as I did here: not only is there an interesting mix of feminine and more masculine shapes, but the dress itself wears like a new piece. By the way, you may have seen a tweet earlier this week that showed me standing outside of Tiffany & Co. (and grinning broadly)–the reason of course was in the blue bag. I purchased the "Venetian link" bracelet that I'm wearing in these pictures. Bright silver, bold shapes, and a dainty width–it's truly my new favorite accessory.

While we haven't had gray, rainy days lately here in NYC, it was nice to have had a piece of London with me this weekend. Nadia Minkoff's Liverpool St. satchel–which was inspired by the bustling Liverpool Street Station in the city–is definitely metro enough to feel right at home in New York and with my all black outfit. The bag is incredibly unique with its turn-lock, double top-handle, and bright faux-snake skin paneled flap. While Nadia's entire line is vintage-inspired, I love the bag's modern functionality: it may seem compact, but I fit all of my essentials with room to spare among its many pockets. Check out the brand's Facebook page–a few of their staff have the same bag and it's fun to see it travel around their office.
What do you think? Do you have a bag that always seems to magically hold everything you need?

Although I admittedly spend most heat-waves indoors (that is, in air-conditioning), there is something about their preternaturally high temperatures that feels invigorating when enjoyed in small doses. The city changes too: the air gets hazier, the streets more congested, and the fashion a whole lot more revealing. The swampy afternoon I spent outdoors ended with a pizza dinner and a package waiting for me at home. Nadia MInkoff, a fabulous British designer, was sweet enough to send some goodies stateside–I can't wait to feature her gorgeous 'Liverpool' bag sometime soon.
What do you think? Do you have any weekend plans? I'll be looking for ways to beat the heat!
p.s. Congrats to Dianne K …she's won the ‘ethel’ sideways cross necklace from robyn rhodes …. look out for an email about your prize soon! x Since I never heard back from Dianne, the new winner is Jennifer B.! Congrats! x
