The first day of spring is only seven days away (!!!) and I'm already sensing the changes the season brings with it. Right now I'm seeking lighter nail polishes (Revlon's 'Elegant' is a new shade for Spring/Summer 2012), sweet (but healthy) treats, and everything in bright, colorful prints. On a shopping trip this past weekend I picked up this silky maxi dress along with a few other non-wintery items–I just can't wait until it's warm enough here to wear them all.
What do you think? How do you welcome spring?

A few months ago, I decided I was tired of guessing how old the leftovers in my fridge were. You might be familiar with the scenario: "Did we have pasta on Monday or Wednesday?", "Exactly how long has this chicken been here?", "Does rice keep for more three days?", etc. Finally I came up with a practical but decorative solution involving a blackboard, a wooden frame, some twine, and chalk. Now I can jot down what meal we had and when, erasing as I go. No more guessing about what was eaten on which day, plus my kitchen has a new and stylish accessory.
