{things i wore} slashed-back shirt

It's silly, but I just love it when I craft an outfit that can transition from day to night just through the swapping of some accessories. This weekend I started out by wearing this look with flats and one of my favorite shoppers–Hayden Harnett's Welles Hobo in 'Dusk' (last seen here)–and then switched to a pair of heeled sandals and a clutch for the rest of the evening. With its spectacular neon color, this shirt is so much fun to wear–plus from the front it is hard to suspect its slashed-back detailing.

{things i wore} high-rise trouser jeans

I love finding variations on traditional denim. My sister dug this pair of jeans out of a sales rack at the Gap–luckily in my size–and when I realized they'd ring up for less than $20, I knew I'd be leaving the store with them. The color is a unique blue, the fabric holds its shape, and the fit is surprisingly comfortable for a high-waisted cut. Warmer weather means that all I need is a light scarf  and tank to finish a look and I'm ready to enjoy a day in the sunshine.

{things i wore} leather bangles

If you had asked me a few years ago what my favorite color clothing was I'd have said black. While it's often still my go-to (it's just so easy to match things when you're wearing it), I have a new appreciation for all sorts of colors, prints, and patterns. I love the pop of my yellow bag next to the watercolor design of my skirt, but most of all I adore my new bracelets: they're a pale minty green leather set off by gorgeous gold bars and they make any of my outfits more interesting. Amy Fine's shop carries these bangles in every color you could imagine, from periwinkle blue to bamboo yellow.  So while black-colored clothing used to enjoy a starring role in my wardrobe, I find myself now using it to anchor the other hues I'm wearing.
