I love it when dressy clothes–a.k.a. these cropped pants and platform heels–wind up being more comfortable than casual ones. Relaxed, slouchy trousers are easily worn and styled and even though I swore I'd stop buying shoes for some time (a promise which never lasts), I couldn't pass up a pain-free pump. My favorite way to set off a fabulous handbag is an all-black look, and this satchel from Lodis certainty deserves the spotlight. I love snake-print–it's so summery and it matches with anything. Feel like testing that theory out? Well you're in luck–check back later today for your chance to enter to win this bag for yourself!

It's silly, but I just love it when I craft an outfit that can transition from day to night just through the swapping of some accessories. This weekend I started out by wearing this look with flats and one of my favorite shoppers–Hayden Harnett's Welles Hobo in 'Dusk' (last seen here)–and then switched to a pair of heeled sandals and a clutch for the rest of the evening. With its spectacular neon color, this shirt is so much fun to wear–plus from the front it is hard to suspect its slashed-back detailing.

Rain clouds have settled over New York, but this past weekend was gloriously sunny–perfect for a fun beach-side excursion and an outfit that matched. I bought these shoes and skirt a few weeks ago after deciding they were irresistibly summery. Its bright pattern had me thinking of Gucci or Roberto Cavalli silk scarves, while the woven platforms of the pumps–which measure an incredible 5.8 inches–seemed like a dressier espadrille. Camille Zarsky's Portfolio Clutch is a dream to wear. It's so sleek and polished that it finishes a look instantly. I was thrilled when they sent me this gorgeous one in brown–I just love that the brand is handcrafted in NYC–and I can't stop thinking of ways to wear it.

Sometime recently I discovered that I can never have enough clutches. It's funny: a few years back, I was all about oversized bags and thought getting anything too small would be a waste of valuable shopping. Now I grab clutches constantly to wear with all sorts of outfits. While this means I have to whittle down my purse's contents to the essentials (which is a lot harder than it may seem), it's completely worth it to finish a look. I was thrilled when Twisted Orchid sent me this linen clutch (they have so many fun statement bags and their Facebook page has its own built-in store– so convenient). The bag is wonderfully summery and its black silk buckle paired perfectly with this airy button-down shirt.
P.S. I'm so happy to report that Twisted Orchid wants one of my readers to win their own choice of bag from their current offering (worth up to $75)….check back later for your chance to enter to win!
