It seems like it's been one outdoor party after the next for me since summer started, but no matter how many BBQ's I host or attend, there is something so very special about the one we put together on the Fourth of July. I'm going to spend today cooking, eating, watching the fireworks above the Hudson River, and, even more so than on other days, remembering how proud I am to be an American.

Memorial Day is a meaningful holiday: pausing to remember those who have died serving in the United States' armed forces is a beautiful way to acknowledge the sacrifices of those who dedicate their lives to service. As the last Monday in the month of May, Memorial Day also unofficially starts summer. To me nothing says high-temperature fashion better than cut-off shorts, and this fun American flag pair is both fabulous and patriotic. Paired with a white tee, I can't think of a better way to be dressed for a day of grilling, relaxing, and gloriously warm weather.
