I've wanted a pair of floral-print skinny jeans for forever, so this outfit Blake Lively sported while running errands in NYC really caught my attention. Blake gets it right, right, right: simple black pumps, a simple black tank and a simple black bag to offset the wonderful business of the printed pants by Mother. In my opinion, florals are always a fashion "do" during spring and I really can't wait until I get a chance to intepret this look with pieces from my own closet.

I don't normally love how Hilary Duff dresses. Sometimes her outfits give me the impression that she's back on Disney-sponsored tween programming–everything's too matchy-matchy (here and here) or unflattering (here) or over-accessorized (here). This outfit however caught my eye for good reasons. To start, the color coordination is subtle (it's hard to go wrong with black and white). The fit is very forgiving (I love a slouchy pant). And most importantly, her fashion accouterments are well-chosen. A floppy hat, chunky scarf, and quilted (Chanel) purse? Very chic.

Although it's been too cold in NYC for this look to work, I really need to start winterizing my maxi dresses more often. I have a closet full of long skirts–as I've pointed out before–so it would definitely give me a whole lot more outfit options when the temperatures won't allow me to wear them with tanks or sandals. Vanessa Hudgens, whose style seems to keep improving lately, pulls the look off flawlessly. Red and black are a perfect wintry combination and her pricey accessories–love that half-moon necklace and Alexander Wang bag (although in person its thick leather made it seem not very functional)–are edgy but not overly so. From the wooden shoes to the thick, loosely wound scarf she looks bo-ho chic from head to toe.

My sister and I must have some sort of psychic ability: one day we're discussing how crazy/ironc/appropriate it would be for Celine (the singer) Dion to own a Celine (the French label) handbag and the next day she appears carrying a gorgeous specimen from the brand's line. Of course the odds that Celine owned a pricey, popular, and enormously chic handbag were pretty high regardless of the fact that she shares its namesake. Each time the singer emerges from her permanent home in Las Vegas (confession: I dream of a weekend trip there just to see her show), I'm always more impressed by her style. For this appearance in Paris she did not disappoint: a voluminous coat, skinnies, and pumps in a shade identical to that aforementioned bag–perfection.

My sister recently pointed out to me that Lea Michele wears mostly black when out and about in both casual and glam outfits. The more I thought about it (and a few Google searches later), I saw she was right. Since we both appear to share a favorite fashion color, I'll be paying a lot more attention to her choice of clothing. She wore this tattered sweater and ripped jeans combo while on her way to record her first solo album in a Los Angeles studio. It's definitely a look I like (and wear sometimes), although right now I'm having some serious bag-envy over that Givenchy Nightingale tote.

A dress, a bag, shoes–you might think it may be too much McQueen for just one outfit to carry. However Olivia Wilde–more often than not a fashion miss in my book–did it and more by really pulling together this look. To start, she kept all the pieces by the fashion house to a foolproof standard black and accessorized with lots of gold jewelry (I love her belt, it's so unique). The result? A McQueen-guided take on the 'little black dress' that's both modern and stunning.
What do you think? Would you wear this look–or style it completely differently?
p.s. Speaking of Mr. McQueen, check out this fantastic giveaway on one of my favorite blogs, "In a Blonde World" for a 'Manta' clutch in a gorgeous emerald green. It's too amazing to pass up! x

This was one of my first "fashion-y" ideas years ago: wear all black and grab a pair of coloful shoes. Something about it works–plus I think you can never have enough ways to reinvent a little black dress. Kate Hudson looked slim and stunning in this clingy one by Emilio Pucci. The brighly hued acessories, which didn't stop at the shoes–her earings and ring were also multi-colred–matched her mega-watt smile.
What do you think? Do you ever wear coloful shoes with an all-black look?

Khole Kardashian really got it right with this outfit. It's perfect for late summer, cohesively toned (although who would have trouble matching anything to that gorgeous Chanel shoulder bag?), and is perfectly tailored. I also love her red lip, sleek hair, and the fact that she's wearing something (the cute cropped jacket) from the line she shares with her sisters in a totally appropriate and not-too-obvious way.

Oh Lauren Conrad, how I love your neutral-toned outfits and delicate jewelry. This look couldn't be simpler– skinnies, an oversized sweater, and a cross body bag–but the sophisticated color palette makes head-turning. Even though I can't imagine wearing a sweater these days–temperatures are still solidly in the 80s in New York–I'm still feeling inspired by the look. The combination of beige, white, and brown is perfect for summer, in California or otherwise.
What do you think? Is LC one of your style favorites? And have you had to wear any sweaters this summer?
