pier village, nj

With Memorial Day just around the corner (time flies!) and the weather in the eighties almost all this week I’m in full-on summer mode. I love taking day trips during the summer and though we can’t get any place super exciting from New York all that quickly there is always the classic option of the Jersey shore to scratch the vacation-vibes itch. These photos are from an excursion we took last year to Pier Village, a Victorian-inspired apartment/dining/shopping/hotel complex located in Long Branch, New Jersey. The place is a bit of an oddity: their slogan is “live like you’re on vacation” and they deliver with the sights, sounds, and overall atmosphere there. We walked the boardwalk, had some delicious Greek food near a grassy plaza, and left as children were shooting glowing slingshot helicopters up into the warm night sky. I can’t wait to head back soon!
