{things i learned} layered urban art

While there is a lot about New York that I take for granted, some things never fail to capture my attention (or that of my camera's lens).  I am fascinated by the urban art affixed to just about every public–and sometimes private–surface in the city. I love how ephemeral each piece is: seemingly permanent, they eventually will fade, rip, or simply be replaced. Although their sentiment usually appears illogical–see the above "Car Sex" or "Faust"–or incredibly topical–the sobering "So Much Noise" or "Occupy"—they are always a perfectly quick and interesting read.
