When I was younger I had a full box–yes, an actual box–of plastic accessories for my Barbie dolls. Mixed in among the brushes, fake food, and beauty products were more tiny pairs of perfectly arched pumps than I could count. Were they responsible for the stacks of shoe boxes currently in my closet? Probably.  Most commonly though they were some shade of pink, a color I have yet to embrace in the real world. And then I saw Jennifer Lopez this week appearing on a Brazilian talk show and looking amazing in a form-fitting neon yellow dress, lots of glittering diamonds, and pointy hot pink pumps. Now the search is on: I'd love a more affordable pair that will also make me think of my old dolls and their impractical but fabulous footwear.
