When the temperatures drop–a situation that lasts for months on the east coast–it seems like no matter how detailed an outfit, it's your winter coats that steal the show. Depending on your choice of outerwear, this can be for better or for worse. I'm always looking for flattering coats and this one by Diane von Furstenberg caught my eye when I saw Leighton Meester wear it as Blair Wardolf to filim a scene in NYC for "Gossip Girl." I love the belted wrap style (it's of course what DVF does best), the wide lapels, and the gold details. I adore coats in winter white–this shade is called "Snow"–but the piece also comes in a gorgeous burgundy called "Red Spice."
